Abuse, neglect and exploitation may be obvious or difficult to recognise. They can involve physical, emotional, sexual, financial, discriminatory or systemic harm, as well as failures to provide essential care and support.
This course helps support workers identify warning signs, respond safely to disclosures and understand their responsibilities when an incident or concern arises. It covers immediate protection, respectful communication, objective documentation, internal reporting and escalation through appropriate channels.
The module reinforces a participant-centred approach that protects each person’s dignity, privacy, communication needs and involvement throughout the safeguarding process.
